DESCRIPTION: Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Office Calendar No. 8" wall clock, 8 day, time and perpetual calendar, weight driven movement in a walnut and burl walnut case with canopy top, glazed pendulum aperture and painted metal dials, and damascened pendulum bob
CONDITION: the case retains its original finish with chips on each of the upper finials and a small chip on pendulum door. There is some minor inpainting on time dial. The original canopy has been reattched. There is a repair to lower portion of pendulum rod where the adjustment assembly attaches. The horizontal time dial support is a period Seth Thomas replacement. The dial has been rotated slightly and the old original holes matching the dial are visible when the dial is off. The clock retains the original damascened bob and original cast iron weight stamped "No. 8 OFFICE CAL" This is a large, impressive clock and particularly handsome in walnut.
